Zara Turns 50 and Invites 50 Creative Legends to Celebrate

To mark its golden anniversary, Zara has pulled out all the stops, inviting 50 of the world’s most celebrated creatives to design one-of-a-kind pieces!

From jackets and bags to sleeping bags, chairs, and even a pet carrier..

Names like Annie Leibovitz, Anna Sui, David Chipperfield, David Sims, Kate Moss, Marc Newson, Naomi Campbell, Nick Knight, Norman Foster, Pat McGrath, Pedro Almodóvar, Rosalía, and Zara’s in-house design team are among the collaborators.

A Half-Century Celebration in Style

For Zara, turning 50 is more than just a milestone, it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and design.

In this unique project, each artist contributed a product that reflects their signature style, and all pieces will be available in stores from October 6.

The initiative underscores Zara’s commitment to collaborating with the best in the business while making exceptional design accessible to all.

“It’s an honor that these artists accepted our invitation to celebrate this milestone with us”

says Marta Ortega Pérez, Non-Executive Chairwoman of Inditex.

“Each is a leader in their field, driven by imagination, innovation, and integrity, values that Zara has cherished from the very beginning: technical excellence and the joy of design.”

All proceeds from the collection will support Women’s Earth Alliance, a nonprofit focused on environmental protection and empowering women in leadership roles.

Additionally, Zara will donate €20,000 to 50 charities selected by the participating artists.

A Dream Team of Creative Icons

The roster of collaborators reads like a cultural who’s who, reflecting Zara’s evolution into a powerhouse of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle over the past five decades. Among the visionaries:

  • Filmmakers Pedro Almodóvar and Luca Guadagnino

A Pop-Up Celebration in Paris

The Zara 50th anniversary collection will be showcased in a special week-long pop-up during Paris Fashion Week at 40 Avenue Georges V, from October 2 to 5, open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Curated by Sarah Andelman, the space will feature all 50 designs alongside talks with some of Zara’s creative friends.

A custom soundtrack by Michel Gaubert sets the mood, and a café by We Are Ona will keep visitors fueled.

The series kicks off on October 2 with talks moderated by Derek Blasberg, including a conversation with designer Marc Newson.
