Mindful Beginnings: A Joyful Yoga Project for Children in Los Angeles

A new series of playful wellness events introduces kids to the beauty of slowing down, breathing deeply, and finding calm in movement.

In a world where childhood often feels just as fast-paced as adulthood, finding stillness can be a rare gift.

That’s what makes this new project in Los Angeles so special: a series of mindful events designed exclusively for children, offering them the chance to pause, reconnect, and discover that mindfulness can be both joyful and fun.

The first gathering unfolded in the serene Topanga Canyon Oasis, a lush corner of LA where nature sets the rhythm.

Here, children were welcomed with yoga mats, each paired with a soft plush toy, instantly creating a safe and comforting space.

Led by instructor Roxy Gordon, the session blended playful poses, calming exercises, and gentle breathing techniques.

For many of the little ones, it was their very first step into mindfulness, approached with curiosity, laughter, and ease.

Parents watched as subtle shifts emerged: brighter moods, improved focus, and a budding sense of emotional resilience.

The children left not only calmer, but carrying a newfound awareness of their bodies and minds: a gift that extends far beyond the yoga mat.

Founded by Anna Pagava, the project is more than a single event.

It’s an ongoing journey that will weave together activities designed to nurture creativity, calmness, and emotional intelligence.

From yoga and guided breathing to playful props and mindful storytelling, each gathering is crafted with one goal in mind: to give kids the tools to grow into their world with balance and joy.
