Doobie’s Deep Sea Drop: The Skate Old Skool Net Sets Sail

Vans and Victor “Doobie” Pellegrin unveil a skate shoe legend - complete with secret stash, sea ready suede, and a tale as wild as the man himself.

Once upon a time, in a quiet French village, a skater named Victor Pellegrin – better known as Doobie – dreamed of adventures beyond the pavement.

Fast forward to 2025, and Doobie has charted a course straight into sneaker history with the launch of his very own Vans Skate Old Skool Net.

This isn’t just another skate shoe; it’s a tribute to Doobie’s dual passions: skateboarding and the sea.

Crafted with water-resistant shaggy suede, reinforced canvas side panels, and sturdy laces, the Skate Old Skool Net is built to withstand the elements – be it a rugged skate park or a misty coastal town.

But the real treasure lies in the details…

A secret mesh pocket on the tongue offers a discreet spot for your “essentials,” while the iconic sidestripe is embroidered with flair.

Inside, a custom insole designed by the legendary Todd Francis adds an artistic touch to this already standout sneaker.

To celebrate this release, Vans dropped a cinematic campaign titled “Ye Tale of Doobie” directed by Jack Lammas and Ed Hubert.

Set in a quaint Cornish fishing village, the film features Doobie and his crew – Harry Lintell, Helena Long, Notis Aggelis, Max Pack, Merryn Garner, and Michael Boardman – embarking on a whimsical adventure that blurs the lines between myth and reality.

Doobie’s journey from the streets of Lyon to the shores of Helsinki, where he now resides, is a testament to his free spirit and dedication.

A member of the Vans family since 2010, his latest collaboration embodies the essence of the Old Skool ethos: timeless, rebellious, and always ready for the next adventure.
